Key Points for the Installation of Four-Post Lifts
2022-04-05
To avoid equipment tilting, abnormal noise, or even overturning caused by insufficient foundation strength, ensure that newly poured concrete is cured for over 20 days before installing lifting equipment. Different types of lifts must meet the following conditions:
I. Foundation Preparation Before Installation
- Concrete strength should reach the C20-C25 standard, with a thickness of at least 200mm.
- Ground level accuracy should be less than 5mm.
- To ensure stability and safety under load, the lift's base plate must directly contact the concrete foundation during foundation planning.
II. Workstation Dimensions
- Reserve workstation space according to 4S standards: (7000-8000)mm × 4000mm.
- Ensure sufficient space for vehicles to drive onto and off the lift.
- If the roof is low, install a light-blocking alarm device on the ceiling to prevent collisions with lifted vehicles.
III. Power Supply, Air Source Access, and Installation Materials
- Three-phase core wire: minimum 2.5mm²; single-phase core wire: minimum 4mm².
- Power supply should be reserved 1 meter from the electrical control box.
- If the formal power supply is not connected before installation, the repair station must provide a 380V three-phase four-wire temporary power supply for equipment debugging and training.
IV. Preparation of Installation Tools and Materials
- Prepare 18 liters of L-HM46 anti-wear hydraulic oil for each scissor lift before installation.
- Prepare a forklift with a capacity of over 2T for loading, unloading, moving, and installation operations.
- The detailed list of installation equipment and tools shall be subject to the information provided by the lift manufacturer.
V. Connecting Crossbeams and Platforms
- Align the main and auxiliary platform components front-to-back, measure the spacing between the main and auxiliary platform components, and connect the main/auxiliary crossbeams to the main/auxiliary platforms with nails.
VI. Installing Main/Auxiliary Columns, Safety Racks, and Steel Wire Ropes
- Thread the safety rack inside the column through the top plate of the column until the lower end of the safety rack is higher than the end of the crossbeam.
- Then push the column assembly into the end of the crossbeam.
- Check whether the steel wire rope is in the grooves of the pulley and small pulley. If not, adjust it manually. Then fix the steel wire rope on the top plate of the column.
VII. Installing Tank Chains and Hydraulic System Tubing
- Tank Chain: Arrange the oil inlet pipes and power cables of the main machine and sub-machine neatly, pass them through the tank chain in sequence, then fix one end of the tank chain to the crossbeam with screws and the other end to the electrical control box mounting plate on the column.
- Hydraulic System Tubing: According to the tubing connection diagram, first connect the oil inlet pipe and return pipe of the main machine and the oil inlet pipe of the sub-machine to the corresponding interfaces of the pump station, and tighten the joints.
VIII. Debugging
- Check whether the electrical connections are correct.
- Check whether the steel wire ropes on the four columns are in the pulley grooves (it is required that the steel wire ropes must go around the pulleys), and check whether the steel wire ropes at both ends of the platform are crossed (it is required that there is no crossing of the steel wire ropes).
- Turn on the power switch, operate the "Rise" button, check whether the motor rotation is normal, and check whether the oil pipes of the main machine are leaking. At this time, the steel wire ropes will slowly tighten. When the steel wire ropes are about to be tightened, release the "Rise" button, and again check whether the steel wire ropes on the four columns are in the pulley grooves and whether the steel wire ropes at both ends of the platform are crossed.
IX. Installing Expansion Bolts
- When drilling bolt holes, drill vertically downward.
- Clean up drilling residues to ensure the columns are in the designated positions.
- Knock in the expansion bolts.
Refer to the product dimension diagram and installation requirements provided by the manufacturer, adjust the distance between the columns, and then install the expansion bolts.
To ensure the safety of the equipment during future use, maintenance personnel engaged in the operation of lifting equipment must receive safety standard operation training after the installation of the lift and before the equipment is put into operation.
